I've used Selco in the store and online, they are incredibly unhelpful, sometimes rude, only have one knowledgeable member of staff in the Bradford branch, cannot deliver on time, do not contact you at all if your delivery is delayed (this happened on 3 out of 3 occasions I ordered from them online) and when you complain that you weren't contacted they transfer you to their delivery company and take no responsibility for their actions whatsoever. The most incompetent builders merchant I've ever used.
Placed an order on the Sunday for delivery on Tuesday 30 June. Received an e-mail confirming delivery would actually be on Wednesday 1 July. Waited all day, no delivery, no phone call. Spoke with the branch the following day who told me that the driver had tried to deliver the previous morning. If so, they must have used an invisible, silent driver and truck because my cctv didn't pick them up. They then told me they couldn't deliver on Thursday 2 July and would I be happy with Friday. No thanks, I'll take my business elsewhere.

Excellent customer service by almost all the operatives at South Ruislip branch.Mainly ,one Mr Victor is a very good example for a best customer service care ,he helps to everyone in all the directions such as guiding for materials,ordering and returning etc.Well Done guys.
We bought via our builder (paid in cash) the french door and arrived as expected on the 5th of May.
As we are currently doing the rear extensions, it took two weeks before being installed and once it was, the builder communicated to me that the doors weren't shutting and noticed that UPVC at the top of one of the window was slightly curved inward, enough not to touch the frame when shutting. We don't notice any signs of damages caused during the installation. My neighbour, which is also a handyman, came by to check the doors too and we all agreed there wasn't much to repair.
On Friday the 24th, we contacted Selco customer service and they kept telling us it was misaligned and promised to send somebody today (Monday the 24th of May) to check if the windows were properly installed.
Today we call again to confirm that was happening and with surprise, they told us there is no such service and nobody was coming to have a look.
Selco customer service isn't taking any actions.
As we flagged this before the 28th of the day which it was guaranteed to get refund/replacement and it seems they never acknowledged that.
We tried our best to provide as much information as possible because despite the fact we are not experts and our builder is not fluent in English and not able to explain things on the phone, (just pointing fingers here and there on the door).
On the good days, there is a constant draft coming from the area where it doesn't shut, on the bad days, we got drops between the area where the door and the frame don't shut completely.
We started to understand it is going to be a long battle and having a broken window isn't going to help our cause, and it is obvious we are not going to keep the door installed any longer and going to buy a new one soon and probably with Selco... Which leave us no options.
Inexperienced driver took over two hours of begging to drive-thru a narrow lane (refuse collection lorries, which are larger fly through).
Second order delayed by 3 days with no explanation. Ruse and patronising lady on the phone insisted that they can do whatever they like and lie about delivery times to get your business. Unfortunately they have a near monopoly.
They had all the gear in stock, was easy to select and load, and Phil at Ardwick provided a friendly professional efficient service to allow me to order what was required and book a Friday delivery without any problems.
Would deal with Selco anytime.
Terrible service, driver just dumped 71 decking boards on the road and left!
I’ve been using them for years, service is never out of this world, however after today I will never use them again.
Visited the Camberley branch this morning, despite being busy nothing was too much trouble for the team, grabbed some bits from out the back and opened extra tills to get the queues down, even saw the manager just onto a till, thanks for making my morning a bit easier

Absolutely useless company. I asked them several times what size flashing kit it was to go with the correct size roof window. I gave them the correct sizes and all information. Because they didn’t know the answer they ignored my emails. Please go to screwfix as you have people with an actual brain that work there and give you a great answer to a simple question.
I place my order on Saturday for delivery on Monday which was meant to be on the afternoon run however did not receive till gone 5. Which half the materials I ordered was not there. I called selco in hanworth and was told they new about it not being delivered but not one person thought to call to inform me and the driver had no idea why. They said was in stock and will receive first thing in the morning which I agreed too. By 11 o'clock still no sign of delivery so I called again. I then had this member of staff tell me that was not in stock and a driver had to collect from another branch but assured me than he was on his way and that I would have delivery within the next hour and half. 2 o'clock comes and still no delivery so call again and this time the staff member was very rude and just said he left to deliver 40 min ago and he will be there when he gets there. So I'm asking where is he if he left 40min ago as I live 5min from the store. The guy was that rude I had to hang up the phone. Then about 3.30 I finally got my order. I have never had such a bad customer service experience in my life it was awful
Big thankyou too all at Selco, Elland Road, Leeds. Everytime I go there i always get fantastic support from all, especially TESS, who is most helpful and endeavours to provide excellent customer service and price, each and everytime I go there. Take a bow TESS!
I have just purchased some kitchen units from the Chelmsford branch of Selco’s . I choose it on line to start then got a employer of the store to order it fully. He was very helpful and friendly. There was two employers involved in ordering this whim I’d highly recommend for any customer need, one is Ant and the other is Reis. Both are do very helpful and friendly.
I had up to date calls keeping me informed of my delivery.
It was very easy to order and the delivery was quick easy and on time.
When the driver delivered it he made sure he was safe and kept a distance but at the same time helped load it in to my hall way.
I then had a call that evening asking if every thing was delivered okay.
Then the next day another call to confirm the order was of satisfaction.
I would go to Selco again
10/10. Device , value and customer satisfaction.
I love Selco, it’s a proper building merchants and is for trade only. I have just had a kitchen delivered from the York branch, great value and good quality. Good staff. Great for timber and sheet material. Cheap boilers.
